Asmedia SCSI & RAID Devices Driver Download

ASMedia ASM3142 is the next generation Universal Series Bus xhci host controller, bridging PCI Express to USB3.1 Gen-II, compliant with USB3.1 Specification Revision 1.0 and Intel eXtensible Host Controller Interface specification revision 1.1. It also supports backward compatible with legacy USB function and devices, compliant with USB Attach SCSI Protocol revision 1.0, supporting the function of debugport on port A of USB.

ASMedia ASM3142 also supports the new feature of USB3.1 Gen2, named Multiple INs to achieve fully utilization rate of 10Gbps data rate, taking advantage of the available bandwidth of USB3.1 Gen2 bus.

ASM3142 supports two USB3.1 Gen-II ports and perform trusting high speed bandwidth with PCI Express Gen-III x2 supporting. It uses advance process with low voltage supply, following standard PCI Express/USB bus power management and advance chip power management to reduce total power consumption efficiently under idle/standby state.

  1. ASMedia Technology was founded in 2004 and went public in 2012 (stock code: 5269.TW). Headquarter is located in Taiwan. ASMedia specializes in high-speed interface technologies with strong expertise in high-speed SERDES in house development.
  2. Most USB enclosure or expansion drive are designed with a SATA interface that tops out at 6 Gbp. That’s fine in most cases, but if your host computer comes with USB 3.1 Gen2 SuperSpeed 10 Gbps (SuperSpeed+) port capable of even better performance, ASMedia now has a solution for faster USB drives with their ASM2362 USB 3.1 Gen2 to PCIe NVMe SSD chip.
  3. UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) Rev. 1.0: Chipset ID: ASMedia - ASM1142 VIA/VLI - VL812: Packaging Information: Package Height: 1.3 in 32.0 mm Package Length: 5.2.
  4. Trust me, i've tried anything.i use this program alot, especially in gaming, monitoring anything. Tried to uninstall, reboot, installed the last version. Because i've installed a new motherboard & watercooled system, the temps were a bit higher so i've installed a different program to compare some values because now there are alot of new values that i don't know what they are.
Devices

ASM3142 integrates ASMedia self-designed PCI Express/SuperSpeed USB/USB2.0 PHY, supporting the proprietary driver for Windows 7 and in box driver for Windows 8.0, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and various Linux kernels. The application of ASM3142 includes Motherboard, Desktop PC, Notebooks, Workstations, Servers, Add-in cards, PCI Express based embedded platform.

Symptoms

1) After OS restore, ASM instance cannot detect SCSI disks previously configured:
For example,

SQL> ALTER DISKGROUP ALL MOUNT
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-15032: not all alterations performed
ORA-15063: ASM discovered an insufficient number of disks for diskgroup 'DATA'

2) asmtoolg or asmtool are able to see the disk(s):

C:>asmtool -list
NTFS DeviceHarddisk0Partition1 20481M
FAT32 DeviceHarddisk0Partition2 4094M
NTFS DeviceHarddisk0Partition3 30725M
NTFS DeviceHarddisk0Partition4 30718M
ORCLDISKDATA0 DeviceHarddisk3Partition1 1027

3) Also, the dd for windows command is able to read on the disk (confirmed I/O access):

C:> dd if=?DeviceHarddisk3Partition1 of=C:tmp.dmp bs=4096 count=1
1+0 records in
1+0 records out

4) But v$asm_disk view cannot discover the disk(s):

SQL> select path from v$asm_disks;
no rows selected

Or

SQL> Alter system asm_diskstring = '.ORCLDISKDATA0’;
SQL> select path from v$asm_disks;
no rows selected

5) Kfed also confirmed a valid ASM disk header:

6) Also validated the automount feature is OK:

7) Shutdown and startup the ASM instance but the problem persists:

C:> srvctl stop asm -n nodename
C:> srvctl start asm -n nodename
